Parent and Teacher Testimonials

Tami Losev at East Bay Speech Therapy has been my son’s speech therapist for the past seven months and we have seen significant progress with his speech during this time. My 4-year-old son struggles with a speech delay due to autism, so Tami has been successful in holding his interest and in getting him to verbally respond with short sentences. My son looks forward to his sessions with Tami because she has a great sense of humor, she is patient, and she brings along a big bag of toys that he loves to play with. She has taught my son the foundations of language and conversation. She has also taught us how to utilize visual prompts to help encourage verbalization and transitions. I would definitely recommend her.

Tami at East Bay Speech Therapy began working with my daughter at 20 months old. She built rapport and made therapy fun. A crucial component for me, was Tami’s attention to my daughter beyond speech. Because of Tami’s knowledge and being invested in my daughter’s development, she asked a very important question. This resulted in identifying other issues critical to helping my child progress that even her pediatrician overlooked. Our journey certainly would have been harder without Tami. For that, I am forever grateful.

Tami at East Bay Speech Therapy worked with our son two years ago to provide additional speech therapy for him during the summer. Tami had an effective teaching style that included a combination of gentle and fun way to get my son to learn. She had a lot of patience and his articulation greatly improved. After only a few months, we got a lot of compliments from those he knew (other therapists, friends, teachers, and family) on how much clearer his speech was. Tami also gave us tools on how to work with our son. Our son is able to maintain the skills and continues to use the technique taught to him by Tami (self-correct when he misses “s”). We are excited that our son will get to work with Tami this summer. Tami is a professional who has such a graceful way to work with kids.

During the time that I have known Tami, I have seen that she is a capable and caring clinician. She maintains a good rapport with the students and is very dedicated to their growth and progress. When communicating with parents and other staff, she is professional and informative. She uses a variety of techniques and strategies to help improve my students’ language skills. Tami is an excellent therapist and I recommend her without hesitation.

As a baby, our daughter was diagnosed with Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), which resulted in feeding difficulties. At 12 months, she still couldn’t eat any solid foods. We started working with Tami at East Bay Speech Therapy to resolve this issue. From the start, Tami gained our daughter’s confidence and established a fun, but productive, relationship. She was compassionate and encouraging, yet always professional and goal-oriented. It can be tough working with a 1 year old, but Tami was patient and understanding. Every week, Tami utilized effective techniques and oral exercises to teach our daughter how to eat. In between our weekly therapy sessions, Tami provided my husband, our nanny and me with directions and homework assignments to aid in her progression. Almost immediately, we saw a difference and watched in delight as our daughter started to eat puffs and then Cheerios. After a short period of time, she made a remarkable turnaround and began eating real food! Our daughter completed speech therapy in only a few months when her eating issues were all resolved!! Overall, we were extremely pleased with Tami, and we would enthusiastically and strongly recommend her services!
